Who were Rave In Arms?

The short answer is that we don't know. However, there are some things we do know, and I'm trying to keep track of them here.

The people

Rave In Arms (aka R.I.A.) appeared to consist of two people. A number of names - listed below - appear throughout their cassette inlays, but only ever two at a time. It has been suggested that the frequent name changes were a crude method of keeping ahead of the anti-rave authorities at the time.

R.I.A. DJ Monickers:

It's also possible, though unlikely, that R.I.A. were in fact a loose collective with strict rules allowing 2 memebers per mix.

The music

Until recently, it was thought that the Mix Series was R.I.A.'s only creative output. However, the recent interview with DJ Hot Cow in Phantasm has revealed that there were more "lost" recordings, which we've detailed below.

R.I.A. Mix Anthology

This list contains all the mixes that we can confirm exist - it looks like there are gaps in the series - if you can fill them, please let us know!

R.I.A. Remixes

Details on these remixes are sketchy - the Gladys Knight remix may have been by a solo member of R.I.A. (the Phantasm article isn't clear) and we're assuming the Drift remixes were an EP as multiple mixes are mentioned.
